Autodesk has announced that 2009 will be the last version of AutoCAD Land Desktop

In addition to AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk has recently released AutoCAD Civil – a streamlined version of Civil 3D – which allows you to do much of what you did in Land Desktop. With either program, you’ll get surveying and coordinate systems, design capabilities like never before, documentation features, and efficient data management and team coordination.

AutoCAD Land Desktop software is still available if you purchase Civil 3D Land Desktop Companion. Land Desktop provides a base level of land development functionality to streamline the completion of common land planning and analysis tasks.

• Coordinate Land and Surveying Functions. AutoCAD Land Desktop extends AutoCAD® and AutoCAD Map® 3D with enhanced land development features and analysis and drafting tools.
• Collaborate More Effectively. Project teams work more productively with AutoCAD Land Desktop because crucial data—including points, terrain models, and alignments—is stored centrally and shared globally.
• Streamline Completion of Construction Documents. AutoCAD Land Desktop includes AutoCAD and AutoCAD Map 3D software’s drafting automation functionality to streamline the completion of submittal documents. Create, annotate, and manage construction details, and generate legal descriptions and radial stakeout reports quickly and correctly.
